Lamp Shades

Here are some pics of lamp shades that are made from porcelain with a wash out technique  before bisc fire. The blue is a diluted solution of cobalt sulphate . They have a cone 6 satin glaze on them.

Light shinning through the porcelain.

This is the warm glow they give off just with a low wattage energy saving lamp.

Bottle form.

Bottle form.

This large bottle form i came up with today. The top was turned on the wheel and the sides are made on the slab roller. Here i have used a stoneware clay and just before the final kneading i added some red iron oxide to a handfull of clay and then mixed it in to get the marks. This i am hoping will burn through a thin slip i will apply later.
